Troubleshooting Scan and Copy Issues
Completely wrong colors.
If some of the LEDs used for illumination in the scanner scan bars
are failing or the last calibration did not work correctly, although no
error message was displayed, you may experience some
completely wrong colors in your scanned images (see example,
original left, scanned image on right).
1. Restart the scanner by turning it off and on again. If an error
message displays during this operation, contact your
VariQuest dealer and report the error message.
2. If no error message displays during the restart process,
recalibrate the scanner, as indicated in
. If some error message display, contact your
VariQuest dealer and report the error, adding that it displayed
after seeing “completely wrong colors in the scanned image.”
3. If calibration succeeded, reboot and repeat the scan and
check the colors.
4. If the colors are still wrong, analyze the whole diagnostic
sheet. Check for completely wrong colors in the area
corresponding to just one of the scan bars (see figure). If so,
contact your VariQuest dealer and report “completely wrong
colors after calibration,” and report the letter of the scan bar
that is failing (module A in the example).
