Page 6

5.The MSC-10 contains a microprocessor which keeps in memory the
programmed operational logic from the configuration module once
“downloaded”.  The operational logic is a software program created for your
particular configuration (ie. your equipment and installed control
modules).  The operational logic is stored inside the small configuration chip
supplied with the MSC-10. After “downloading” the configuration program is
memorized in the board located at the rear of the faceplate, a “download” is
required if this board is changed. When a new or upgrade configuration is
required the procedure to download the operational logic, using the
configuration module, is explained later in chapter 3.

6.           The  MSC-10  computer  is  used  for  heating,  cooling  and  ventilation
equipment in animal confinement buildings or greenhouses.  The applications
where the MSC-10 can be used include the following systems:

•     Multistage ventilation / heating / sprinkler systems

•     Combined natural and forced ventilation systems

•     Room ventilation systems

7.          The MSC-10 can be integrated in a fully automated system using its
built-in program with 3 categories of control modules.

•     Control Module

•     Actuator Module, and

•     Variable Speed Module

8.

Control Module.

The control module operates in an ON/OFF

switching mode using solid-state relays.

9.

Actuator Module.

The actuator module is used on curtain machines

and inlet actuators which provide OPEN and CLOSE commands.

10.

Variable Speed Module.

The variable speed module controls the

speed of variable speed fans.

The installation of the Varifan Multistage 10 and its connections to the

various control modules should be well planned for optimum performance and
userfriendliness. The following guidelines are given to help establish the best
installation configuration for your building and for the overall safety of
personnel and animals. *It is prohibited to use overhead cables outside the
building.
