GENERAL
1. This instruction manual is provided for the installation and operator
personnel of the Varifan Multistage Computer (MSC-10).
2. The MSC-10 is a modular control unit which uses an advanced digital
control system. The MSC-10 is considered a “master control unit” and can
control and monitor up to 4 modules of two stages each, as follows:
•
VSM-2
Variable Speed Module (max. 3) 2 variable
stages 6 Amp. nominal each (0.1 A - 6 A)
•
CM10-2
Control Module, 2 single speed stages,
10 Amp. each (0.3 - 10 A)
•
CM3-2
Control Module, 2 on/off stages 4 Amp. each
(5 mA - 4 A)
•
CIM-1
Curtain, Air Inlet and 2 speed motor modules
(5 mA - 4 A)
•
CIP-1
Curtain and Air Inlet Positioner (5 mA - 3A)
•
ARM-1
Alarm Relay Module (8 second delay)
NOTE: The MSC-10 provides control for 10 outputs but only
six of the outputs can be variable. The VSM-2 uses two variable
outputs while the CIP-1 uses only one variable output.
3. The MSC-10 can also monitor up to 4 probes, such as:
• Temperature probe
• Humidity probe
• Static pressure probe
• Lighting probe probe
• 4 @ 20 mA
4. Other features of the MSC-10 include:
• Separate power source for each stage
• Manual override capability
PC Interface PCI-20 / RCM-40 (optional)
