Reset defaults
Selecting this option erases all files and resets default
pages. The Controller configuration is not affected by
this. However, resetting the Controller to defaults under
Maintenance – System Tools – Factory Settings will reset
the file system as well.
Some Usage Scenarios
1. Custom banner on default login page: This scenario gives you a simple
customized login that has the graphic image you want on it.
Set Customization – Login Page Customization – Login Page to Default
Change User and Password text if desired. Instead of “Username” and “Password”
you might want “Account” and “Pin” for example.
Upload a custom banner file graphic for the login page with your branding on it, or
the hotel, café, etc. You must upload a file named Banner.jpg.
2. Internal Terms of Service: This scenario allows you to create a page with legal
terms and conditions that subscribers must agree to before they can use the
service. Subscribers do not log in with a username or password, they just accept
the terms.
Set Security - Authentication = Terms of Service
Download the Terms_of_Service.htm template from Customization – Upload
Pages. Customize this HTML file with the text and graphics that you want. You
can replace the default ValuePoint Banner.jpg file, or just upload whatever graphics
you want and reference them in your HTML. The simplest change would be to just
add the text you want and replace Banner.jpg as above.
Upload your custom Terms_of_Service.htm file. This file must have the POST FORM
elements from the template.
Note: If you want subscribers to see terms and conditions before they log on using
local or RADIUS authentication, use an Internal Portal page and link to a terms and
conditions page, or put the terms on the login page.
3. Customized Internal Login Page Only: This scenario is to create a nice
custom login page with the text, graphics, and style you want, but no additional
web content.
