1.6 Road Transport
Before you operate your tractor on public roads,
some precautions must be taken:
• Familiarise yourself with and comply with the
regulations applicable to your machine.
• Lock brake pedals with the union lock.
• Lift all implements to the transport position and
lock them in this position.
• Place all implements on the narrowest
transport setting.
• Turn off the tractor PTO and disengage the
differential lock.
• Make sure that all the warning lights are in
place and working.
• Clean all front and rear reflectors and traffic
lights and make sure they are working.

• Make sure that both the tractor and implements are equipped with slow-moving vehicle warning
triangles and other marking materials to improve visibility on the road, where the law requires.
1.6.1 Transport on truck
Transportation over long distances should be done on a truck, trailer, etc., noting the following instructions:
• Use suitable ramps to load or unload the implement and/or tractor. Do not do so on ravines;
• In case of hoists, use proper points to attach your implement;
• Use the support foot(s) of the implement to support it correctly and properly chock the wheels;
• Use enough slings (cables, ropes, chains, etc.) to immobilise the implement during transport. Check the
conditions of the load after the first 10 to 12 km of travel, and then after every 50 to 60 km if the slings
are coming loose. Check more often unpaved roads (side roads) or roads with excessive potholes;
• Pay attention to the transport height, especially under electrical wires, hangars, trees, etc.
