6 Installation instructions
6.1 Notes on the installation and
operation
The device may be installed, set, con-
nected to the power supply and started
up only by a qualified electrician or
a suitably qualified heating engineer.
6.2 CE label
The CE label shows that, in combination
with Vaillant boilers, the timeSWITCH 140
two-channel timer meets the basic
requirements of the directive on electro-
magnetic compatibility (89/336/EEC
directive) and the low voltage directive
(73/23/EEC directive).
6.3 Intended use
The timeSWITCH 140 is a state-of-the-art
two-channel timer which has been designed
in accordance with approved safety reg-
ulations. Nevertheless, there is still a risk
of injury or death to the user or others or
of damage to the device and other prop-
erty in the event of improper use.
The timeSWITCH 140 timer is a two-channel
timer with a day and week programme
which is used to time control a Vaillant
boiler with or without hot water supply.
