Getting Started 

1.

 

Attach Take-up Reel Arms 

Attach a 

Reel Coupler

to the right side of the 

Central Reel Arm

with three 

screws.  Then, holding the right 

Reel Arm 

(1c)

 

flush with the coupler, attach it with three 

more screws. Repeat with the left reel arm.

for installation instructions. Optional modules include the 

Empty Pocket Detector

, the 

Dymo 

Label Printer

, and the 

Axial/Radial Counting Head

.

 

 

2.

 

Connect Power Supply 

Plug the AC power cord into the AC power receptacle which is located on the back of the 
Versacount II+. Connect the power cord to a 120/230 VAC power source. 

Turn the 

Emergency Stop/Start Button

which is located on the right side of the 

machine to the ON position.

Load Tape & Reel 

Load a full 

Tape Reel

to be counted on one reel arm of the Versacount II+. Load an 

empty 

Tape Reel

 

(3b)

 

on the other reel arm.  

Note:

 The Versacount II+ is bi-directional. Load full reel on desired side, then set the 

direction when configuring settings during set-up.

Open Tape Guide 

Loosen the 

Adjustment Knob

 on the 

Tape Adjuster Guide

and slide the guide back. 

Advance the tape until it reaches the red 

Idler Wheel

Feed Tape 

Feed the carrier tape under the tape guide, and then lift the 

Idler Wheel

to engage the 

sprocket holes of the carrier tape with the sprocket wheel teeth. Lower the idler wheel

 forward until the edge of the carrier tape is in the groove of the 

tape guide. Ensure the tape can move through the guide freely. Tighten the adjustment 
knob to secure the tape adjuster guide

 

in place.

Configure Settings 

Use the 

Keypad

on the control panel to navigate through the menus on the 

LED 

Display

. Choose the 

Setup Menu

 to configure job settings. Choose the 

Options Menu

 

to enable hardware options. Press the 

ENT

 key to lock in data or clear counters. Press 

ESC

 

to move among menu screens. Press 

STOP/GO

 to start or stop the motor. Control counter 

velocity by adjusting the 

SPEED 

(6c)

 knob.

Count a Reel 

Press 

STOP/GO

 to enter 

Run Mode

. An 

Align Tape

 message will appear. Position the tape 

so the last empty pocket before the first part to be counted is centered between the two 

Scribe Lines

 on the left side of the tape guide. Press 

ENT

 to continue, and then press 

STOP/GO

 to begin counting.  

Advance the tape until it reaches the hub of the empty 

Tape Reel. 

 Press 

STOP/GO

 to 

pause counting and attach the tape to the reel. Press 

STOP/GO

 to resume counting until 

the 

Stop Count

 has been reached. When finished counting the reel, change the 

Count 

Direction

 and rewind the tape onto the original reel.
