3.6.1 MR420 installation
The following components are provided along with the MR420 module, in the same package:
•
4 3300
Ω
end of line resistors for siren output termination
•
2 plastic spacers
•
1 metallic hexagonal spacer
•
1 toothed washer
In order to install the MR420 optional module, please proceed as indicated below:
•
Turn the control panel OFF by operating on the power supply insulating device, then open the lid of the control panel and
disconnect the batteries.
•
Unscrew and remove the fixing screw of the MCC module placed in the H3 hole (see the figure of MCC).
•
Place the toothed washer on the H3 hole of the MCC module and screw the metallic hexagonal spacer in it
•
Gently insert the plastic spacers in the H1 and H2 holes of the MCC module
•
Place the MR420 module above the plastic spacers and the metallic hexagonal spacer in correspondence of the holes of
the module. Make sure that all the contacts of the JP1 connector are placed in the plastic connector below.
•
Press gently the MR420 module in order to stick the plastic spacers in the H1 and H2 holes.
•
Place the toothed washer on the H3 hole of the MR420 module and fasten in the MCC the screw previously removed.
•
Perform the electrical connections on the module. If an output is not used, insert the end of line resistor in the output
terminals.
•
Reconnect the positive cable of the batteries, close the cover lid and power supply the control panel
•
Perform the “Cards Initialization” procedure as described in the programming manual.
3.7 RS232/485 OPTIONAL BOARD
The RS232/485 optional board provides the control panel with an RS485 serial communication channel which can be used to
connect the control panel to a printer and an LCD annunciator. The RS232/485 optional board is not covered by the EN54-2
standard.
3.7.1 RS232/485 board installation
In order to install the RS232/485 optional board in the control panel, please proceed as indicated below:
•
Turn the control panel OFF by operating on the power supply insulating device, then open the lid of the control panel and
disconnect the batteries.
•
Insert the RS232/485 board in the COM1 MODULE connector available in the CPU board and fix it to the front panel by
using the available screws.
•
Perform the electrical connections on the RS485 channel available at the terminals of the MCC module.
•
Reconnect the positive cable of the batteries, close the cover lid and power the control panel on.
•
Enable the printer module and/or the LCD annunciator as described in the programming manual.
