2.2 COMBIPHONE
DOOR
UNIT
The universal device depends on the used modules and on the parameters programming (see
“Environment control parameters” chapter).
2.2.1 Device
Device buttons are provided with name holder tags or person positions inside the building. The visitor will
press the button corresponding with the desired apartment; after a fixed time (parameter 55) the device will
dial the programmed phone number.
The number dialling depends on the device configuration mode (parameter 47):
•
Day/night
mode: when the system is in day mode it will always dial the numbers configured in
parameter 1, in night mode it will always dial the numbers configured in parameter 2. The mode
switch-over is defined by parameters 45, 46.
•
Second group
mode: at button first pressing, it always dials a number set in parameter 1. By
pressing many times the same button, or when the line is busy after the first pressing, the device
will dial the number from the second group (parameter 2). By pressing again the same button,
the system will dial again a number of the first group, etc....
If a visitor press the button after the device has seized the line, the system will hang up for a timed defined
by parameter 54, and then it will seize the line again and dial the new number. The number choice is
available both in decadic dialling and in DTMF dialling, depending on parameter 41 programming.
2.3 CALLS
2.3.1 Outgoing
Call
The outgoing call is the call from the device (made by the visitor) to the phone. When the call starts from
the device, the phone will ring in the desired apartment; to speak with the visitor it is only necessary to pick
up the handset. During conversation it is possible, by entering the appropriate codes:
•
to close the relays (parameter 35)
•
to change the Day/Night mode (parameters 45,46)
•
to hang up (parameter 43).
In the 10 seconds before conversation end (parameter 52), the device will signal that the conversation is
going to end, so it can be extended by selecting some codes (parameter 42).
To stop the conversation, enter the default number 34 (set in parameter 43). If the code to stop the
conversation is not entered, the conversation will end either by tone recognition by the PABX or by time-
out, at the end of the maximum conversation time set by parameter 52 (1 minute by default).
2.3.2 Incoming
Call
It is the call from a phone to the door unit. After dialling the extension line number of the PABX, which the
device is connected to, the device seizes the line. After a fixed rings number (parameter 51) it will be
connected and it will be possible to speak. Possibilities are the same as outgoing calls (2.3.1 section), with
two exceptions.
For the first 10 seconds it is possible to enter again "# and service password" (parameter 44), then the
device will operate according to the configured mode.
The other exception in the incoming call concerns the connection of the “service” jumper. After seizing the
line the device works according to the configured mode (without service password).
To stop the conversation enter the default number 34 (set by parameter 43). If the code to stop the
conversation is not entered, the conversation will end either by tone recognition by the PABX or by time-
out, at the end of the maximum conversation time set by parameter 52 (1 minute by default).
