9. If you toast several slices one

toast darkness setting.
10. To toast frozen bread, waffles,
etc. please use the thaw button.
11. To warm rolls, please use the bun
warmer.
BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME
1. Remove all packaging materials
and any transport safety devices.
2. Check to make sure that all acces-
sories are present.
3. Clean the toaster with a damp
cloth, as described in the chapter
“Cleaning and care”.
4. Check to make sure that all parts
are assembled correctly and the
appliance is stable. Make sure
that there is sufficient space
between the toaster and walls or
other appliances, since the toas-
ter becomes hot during operation.
5. Connect the appliance via the
power cord to the power supply
(220–230 V~, 50/60 Hz).
6. Before toasting bread the first
time, conduct one toasting cycle
without bread. Press the toast
lever down until it locks into
place. A signal tone sounds as
soon as the toast lever is pressed
downward and is locked in place.
7. When the toasting cycle is com-
pleted, the toast lever automati-
cally jumps up. Now you can star-
ting toasting bread.
OPERATION - TOASTING
1. Prepare the toaster as described
in the section “Before using the
appliance the first time”.
2. Place the bread slices in the slots
in the toasting chamber.
3. Set the toaster heat setting to
the desired browning level. You
can choose between eight set-
tings; Level 1 provides very light
toasting and Level 8 toasts the
bread very dark. For golden brown
toast, position the regulator in the
middle.
4. Press the toast lever down until it
locks into place.
5. The indicator light around the
browning control adjustment ele-
ment lights up in individual seg-
ments. As the toasting period pro-
gresses, one segment after the
other will go out, thus the dura-
tion of the toasting process can
be monitored.
6. The indicator light for the turbo
function also lights up as soon
as the appliance is toasting. As
soon as the ideal, fastest toasting
temperature is reached, the turbo
indicator light goes out, however
the appliance continues to toast
until the desired browning is
reached.
7. You can interrupt the toasting
cycle any time by pressing the
STOPP
(Stop) button.
