9. Remember that the coffee beans container
always has to be half full. The maximum
capacity is of approx. 240 g.
10. Do not overfill the coffee beans container, in
order to avoid damage to the grinder.
11. Close the coffee beans container with the
lid.
12. Adjust the grinding selector to the desired
degree of grinding. You can select between
coarse, medium and fine in nine steps.
13. Connect the plug to the wall socket.
14. The appliance indicates the readiness for
operation by beeping two times.
15. Check if the clock is adjusted to the actual
time as described in the chapter “Adjusting
the clock”. Push the button “PROG” until
the backlight of this button flashes blue.
16. Select the desired number of cups pushing
the button “2-10 TASSEN” [2 - 10 cups]
until the desired number of cups lights up.
You may choose between 2, 4, 6, 8 and
10 cups. Please make sure to select exactly
the number of cups that have been pou-
red in. If you poured in water for two cups,
you have to select two cups, if you poured
in water for four cups, you have to select
four cups and so on. This guarantees the
optimum coffee taste. The coffee machine
grinds exactly the right amount of coffee
beans.
17. Now you may select the strength of the
coffee by pushing the button “STÄRKE”
[strength]. You can select between coarse,
medium and fine in nine steps.
18. If you desire, you may also prepare coffee
from coffee powder. For this purpose, please
push the button “MÜHLE AUS” [MÜHLE
OFF]. The backlight of this button flashes
blue as long as the button is active. The cof-
fee machine will not grind any coffee beans,
, until the button is pushed again. Fill the
permanent filter with the desired amount
of coffee powder, using 5 – 7 g (approx.
1 coffee measuring spoon) of medium fine
ground coffee per cup according to the desi-
red strength. Too finely ground coffee may
clog the pores of the filter and cause spil-
ling.
19. Press the flap slightly until it latches into
place.
20. Put the glass jug with the lid closed on the
heating plate.
21. Now select the desired time at which the
coffee machine shall start preparing the
coffee by pushing the buttons “STD” and
“MIN”.
22. Then push the button “PROG” again. The
blue backlight illumination indicates that
the appliance is in timer mode and will start
preparing coffee at the desired time.
23. At starting time the appliance starts prepa-
ring coffee.
24. You may remove the jug at any time during
the brewing process. The drip-stop avoids
the coffee dripping from the filter. Put the
jug back on the filter within 30 seconds in
order to continue the brewing process and to
avoid spilling from the filter.
25. The appliance indicates that the coffee is
ready by beeping five times. Switch the
appliance off pushing the button “EIN/
AUS” [ON/OFF]. The heating plate will con-
tinue working as long as the coffee machine
is not switched off, in order to maintain the
temperature of the coffee remaining in the
jug. After two hours the appliance is auto-
matically switched off.
26. The programming remains as long as the
appliance is connected to the mains. If you
wish to prepare coffee at the set time, you
simply need to press the “Program” button
again.
27. After having poured out all the coffee, do
not leave the empty coffee jug on the hot
heating plate.
28. Remove the permanent filter and empty the
coffee grounds.
cleaning anD care
1.
Before cleaning, always turn the appliance off and
unplug it from the wall socket.
2.
Allow the appliance to cool off before cleaning it.
3. Do not immerse the appliance and the lead
cable in water or other liquids or wash them
in the dishwasher.
4. Open the lid of the appliance and remove
the permanent filter. Dispose of the coffee
grounds.
5. Above the filter water may condense. After
preparing coffee, clean the bottom side of
the lid with a dry cloth.
