CARRIAGE DRIVE BEARING REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the slicer base assembly and the carriage drive motor belt per the above procedures.
2. Remove the belt guard (Figure 20 [21]).
3. Remove the eight socket head cap screws (Figure 20 [7]) and remove the two bearing blocks
(Figure 20 [8 and 22]) and remove the two keys (Figure 20 [3]).
4. Remove the driven pulley (Figure 20 [6]) by removing the screws in the taper lock bushing
(Figure 20 [5]). Thread 2 screws into the threaded holes in the taper lock bushing and press it
apart and remove the taper lock bushing and pulley from the shaft (Figure 20 [10]).
5. Remove the driven pulley (Figure 20 [11]) by removing the screws in the taper lock bushing
(Figure 20 [12]). Thread 2 screws into the threaded holes in the taper lock bushing and press it
apart and remove the taper lock bushing and pulley from the shaft (Figure 20 [10]).
6. Remove the retaining rings (Figure 20 [9 and 14]) and remove the idler pulley (Figure 20 [15]).
7. Remove the retaining rings (Figure 20 [16]) and drive the bearings (Figure 20 [17]) from the
bearing blocks.
8. Reassemble in the reverse of the above instructions using new bearings and belts as required. Be
sure to slip the lower carriage drive belt into the jaw assembly.
JAW ASSEMBLY REMOVAL
1. Remove the six pan head screws (Figure 18 [5]) and remove the bottom cover (Figure 18 [16]).
2. Remove the four socket head cap screws (Figure 19 [18]) and remove the jaw assembly.
Note:
The jaw assembly should be replaced as a complete assembly.
3. Reinstall the jaw assembly with the four socket head cap screws (Figure 19 [18]) apply Loctite to
the threads prior to installing the screws.
