WELD SENTRY 2
VOLTAGE MEASUREMENT CHECK
If desired, the following procedure can be used to check the accuracy of the voltage measurement result.
Required Equipment
1. Stable DC Voltage Source (calibrated)
2. Precision Shunt (.01 to 10 milliohm resistance)
(2)
Setup Welder
1. Setup an appropriate weld schedule.
AC Welders: .5 - 1 Cycle, 20% Current (lowest transformer tap)
DC Welders Single Pulse, < 50 Watt*seconds Energy
Setup Sentry

Test Procedure
1. Use weld cables to connect each end of the shunt to each output terminal of the power supply or
transformer.'
2. Attach the voltage pickup leads to the output of the Voltage Source.
3. Attach the current coil around one weld cable.
4. Set the voltage source to output 9 volts DC.
5. Fire the welder to trigger the Sentry.
6. The Weld Sentry measurement should equal 90 millivolt*Seconds ±: 2%.
7. If the voltage measurement is not correct, refer to Section 5.02 and adjust the voltage
input.
* If the current coil calibration will not be performed, you can fire the weld head across a length of
weld cable or any standard load of measured resistance.
