INTEGRATED PROTECTIONS & TROUBLESHOOTING, CAUSES, SOLUTIONS

For a safe use, Unimppt has several protections that preserve the solar charge controller, the battery and the 
consuming devices in output:

-

 Protection against panel polarity reversal and panel short-circuits,

- Protection against reverse current: prevents reverse current towards the solar panel during night.

- Protection against battery polarity reversal

WARNING : If panels are connected whereas there is a battery polarity reversal, 
controller can be damaged. Not covered by the warranty.

- Thermal protection.

Solution

The solar charge controller needs the 

battery voltage to be higher than 8V in 

order to turn on when being connected 

to the battery

Check the battery’s voltage, 

recharge it if necessary.

Battery polarity reversal

Battery connection problem (cables, 

terminals...)

Check the connections.

No light switches on

Defective battery

Replace your battery, following the 

order of disconnection and 

connection (refer to installation 

and connection cabling).

Green fast flashing

Battery over voltage

Check if battery voltage is too high 

and disconnect the PV.

Battery discharged

With a standard charge, the light
