Note:
•
If you are frying several batches at a time, you must wait each time for the red indicator light to
go out before placing the food into the oil or fat.
•
The filtering basket, with its fine wire mesh, retains small pieces of food in order to keep the fry-
ing oil cleaner for longer.
• Dealing with cooking smells
- The Filter with active carbon and deal effectively with odours. They keep working for
between 40 and 50 uses depending on the nature and weight of the food fried.
- When the Filter is dirty, then changes to a new one.
Changing the filters:
- Lift the Filter Vent (A1) on the lid and remove it completely.
- Remove the used filters. Place the new Filter in position.
New Filter can be purchased from your retailer or from a recognized dealer.
USEFUL HINTS
1. Oils and fats
•
Never operate your fryer without oil or fat.
•
Always use oils or fats which will stand high temperatures.
•
Avoid mixing oils and fats of different quality.
•
Change the oil or fat when it becomes brown after frying (every 10 to 20 batches depending on
the type of food you are trying).
Important:
When cooking wide fat, before each use, use a spatula to make holes in the solid fat
right down to the bottom of the fryer body so that any water trapped under it can escape as steam.
2. Preparing the food to be fried
•
Whatever you are frying, the food must be completely dry. This will avoid overflowing and mean-
s the oil or fat will last longer.
•
When preparing potato-based food (chips, crisps, potato fritters) cut them up and wash in cold
water to remove the starch. This will stop them sticking together. Dry thoroughly.
•
When preparing frozen food, before frying, place the food in the basket and remove the ice
frosting covering it by shaking the basket over the sink.
3. Timer Switch
•
The cooking time will be shown on the Display (1-99 Min), when the setting-time reached, the
Buzzer will give out Bip...Bip... Sound for 30 seconds, and then power will cut off automatically.
If you want to start again, just press the button to set the time.
•
The appliance also works normally if you do not use the timer.
4. Cooking
•
Do not over-fill the basket. This will cool the oil or fat and will make the food greasy.
•
As a guide do not exceed the following quantities:
1.2 kg of chips
900 g of frozen (pre-cooked) chips
10 doughnuts
•
Do not keep the oil at high temperatures for long periods. Frying without over-heating means
that your oil will last longer.
•
Between frying batches, set the thermostat control to the lowest temperature setting.
•
Do not leave the cooked food in the basket in the draining position for too long. Steam could
cause the food to lose its crispness and get soft.
