Safety
Tips and recommendations
It is necessary to observe the safety notes written in
these operating instructions in order to reduce the risk of
personal injuries and damages to property.
2.2 Responsibility of the operator
Operator
The operator is the person who operates the machine lif
-
ter for commercial or economic purposes himself or lea
-
ves it to a third party for use or application and carries
the legal product responsibility for the protection of the
user, the personnel or third parties during operation.
Operator obligations
If the machine lifter is used in the commercial sector, the
operator of the machine lifter is subject to the statutory
duties for occupational safety. For this reason, the safety
instructions in this operating manual as well as the
safety, accident prevention and environmental protection
regulations applicable to the area of application of the
machine lifter must be observed. The following applies in
particular:
- The operator must obtain information about the ap

plicable occupational health and safety regulations
and, in a risk assessment, must also determine ad
-
ditional hazards that result from the special wor
-
king conditions at the place of installation of the
machine lifter. He must implement these in the
form of operating instructions for the operation of
the machine lifter.
- The operator must check throughout the lifecycle of
the machine lifter whether the operating instructi
-
ons he has prepared are in line with the current
state of the regulations and adjust them if neces
-
sary.
- The operator must clearly regulate and determine
the responsibilities for installation, operation,
troubleshooting, maintenance and cleaning.
- The operator must ensure that all persons handling
the machine lifter have read and understood this
manual. In addition, he must train the staff at regu
-
lar intervals and inform them about the dangers.
- The operator must provide the personnel with the
necessary protective equipment and bind the wea
-
ring of necessary protective equipment.
Furthermore, the operator is responsible for ensuring
that the machine lifter is always in perfect technical con
-
dition. Therefore, the following applies:
- The operator must ensure that the maintenance in
-
tervals described in this manual are observed.
- The operator must have all safety equipment regu
-
larly checked for functionality and completeness.
