Working with Gradation Curves
The points on the curves (called “anchor points”) can be moved up or down to
change the gradation value at any point. The anchor points of the currently
active curve are shown in red. To activate a different curve, click on the desired
radio button above the table to the right of the
graph (Grad 3, Grad 4, UCR/GCR, or Black).
The lock icon at the bottom left-hand corner of the grid is open by default. By
clicking on it, the anchor points on the curve are locked into position so you can
move each of the points individually without affecting the position of the others.
Locking the curve also creates additional anchor points allowing you to fine-tune
the curve further.
Note:
Changes in one gradation curve affect its
relationship to the other curves.
Locking the relationship to Grad 3
After making adjustments for Total Ink, Start Black with Grad 4, and Start
UCR/GCR, you can lock those relationships to Grad 3 by selecting the Lock icon
above the UCR/GCR radial button. With the relationships locked, you can freely
make changes to Grad 3 without affecting the settings of the other curves.
