USE
Attach the base firmly to the feet of the unit and check that the splash guard is properly in place
and that it is not in contact with the heating element. Check that the unit stands horizontally.
Unlock he cover by turning the locking knob 90 degrees in either direction and pulling it then
up. Fill the container with clean and warm water. [It will take longer for cold water to vaporize.]
Close the cover, push the locking knob down and turn it 90 degrees in either direction. The float
indicates the level of water. Be careful not to splash water on the controls or on the floor when
filling the container. The water in the container is hot. WARN AND LOOK AFTER CHILDREN.
Never use the humidifier if the cover is not properly locked.
Avoid moving the humidifier when it is filled. The temperature of the water in the container is 65
to 80°C and the temperature of the vapor 50 to 60°C. Current output is 160 or 320W/230V. Water
container capacity is 5,6 liters. The recommended relative humidity of indoor air is 30 to 45 %.
Use Ufox Control HC-1 automatic humidity guard if required. Plug the humidifier to a grounded
socket and set the operating switch to desired position. In position 1 the vaporizing effect is 0.4
liters/hour and in position ½ the effect is 0.2 liters/hour. The indicator light is on when the unit is
in operation. Turn the humidifier off by turning the operating switch to position 0. The indicator
light goes off. If the indicator light does not go on even when operating position is selected and
the humidifier is plugged into mains, press the Start switch down.
The humidifier is switched off automatically and the indicator light goes off when the level of
water drops to the level of the heating element. After refilling with water, start Ufox by pressing
the Start switch. The humidifier cannot be restarted when it is hot.
If the humidifier will be out of use for a long time, empty the container and dry it. After years
of use and after a long time out of use in particular, the rubber seals may lose some of their
elasticity. When using the unit again, before connecting the power, check the seals to avoid leaks
and consequential damages to the unit and even the floor if leaks should occur.
CLEANING
Impurities and minerals of water deposit on the bottom of the container and on the surface of
the heating element. Empty the remaining water regularly to slow down the calcifying process.
Disconnect your Ufox from the mains and clean it as follows:
Empty the water container.
•
Dissolve the crust of lime using Ufox cleaning solution: Pour 1 liter of clean and warm water
•
in the container until the heating element is covered. Add 0.5 liter of cleaning solution into the
container.
The humidifier must not be connected to the mains while it is being cleaned.
•
Be careful not to allow any water or cleaning solution in the electric controls.
•
Allow the solvent to work for 2 to 20 hours in a well-ventilated place with no access to
•
children.
Pour the used solution in the sewer.
•
Rinse the container thoroughly. Use a soft brush if necessary. Be careful not to allow any
•
water in the controls.
The material safety data sheet for the Ufox cleaning solution is available, for example, at
•
www.ufox.fi or via email from [email protected].
A crust of lime less than 2 mm does not affect the functioning of the unit. When not in use,
•
clean the humidifier before storing it.
