4.3 Downstream
Use the following procedure to review detailed information regarding the cable modem’s acquisition and use of
downstream channels from the service provider.
1. Access the web interface. Refer to page 11 for instructions if required.
2. Click
Downstream
from the left-side of the screen. Refer to the table below for more detailed
information.

: While 4 channels are displayed in the example above, the DDM3500 has 8 downstream
channels.
Item Description
Frequency
Displays the current cable modem downstream frequency
(Hz).
Lock Status (QAM Lock/FEC
Lock/MPEG Lock)
Displays the current cable modem downstream lock status.
It contains three sub-items, QAM Lock, FEC Lock, and
MPEG Lock.
Channel ID
Displays the current locked downstream channel ID.
Modulation
Displays the current locked downstream modulation type
(QAM64/ QAM256).
Symbol Rate (Msym/sec)
Displays the current locked downstream symbol rate
(QAM64 is 5.056941 Msym/sec, QAM256 is 5.360537
Msym/sec).
Interleave Depth
Displays the current locked downstream interleave
characteristics. I is number of taps, and J is the increment.
Power Level (dBmV)
Displays the current locked downstream received power
(dBmV).
RxMER (dB)
Displays the current locked downstream Modulation Error
Rate (MER).
