4.4. Connecting A Meter Or Optical Read-out Head Over RS232
4.4.1. Connecting a Meter Over RS232
A meter can be connected using RS232 interface. RS232 supports only one meter connection using Tx, Rx
and GND connectors.
Controller’s Tx and Rx connectors are indicated on the board.
4.4.2. Connecting an Optical Read-out Head Over RS232
Optical Read-out Head allows connecting a meter with a controller by using infrared technology. For the best
it is recommended to use UAB NAVITUS LT Optical Read-
out Head OKK (or other manufacturers’ product)
compatible with the IEC 62056-21 standard.
UAB NAVITUS LT OKK Optical Read-out Head OKK for RS232 is connected in the following way:
Controller
’s Rx connector goes to OKK Tx connector and controller’s Tx connector goes to OKK Rx
connector.
Other manufacturers might have a different setup.
4.5. Connecting a PC over USB Port For Parameterization
Important:
Controller’s USB connection can be used only after transparent cover is
taken off.
Important: When using an USB cable, ensure the cable is unplugged each time
before the restart of the device and plugged back again if required
Connect a computer to the controller with a USB cable and follow the parameterization steps as in
paragraphs 6 and 7.
