5 Hand tool operation
Before start up, ensure that the connection to be processed, is not live!
ATTENTION!
•
Do not crimp live parts!
Release the lock-nut of the fixed handle in order to adjust the final pressure.
Turn the slottet screw clockwise for a higher crimp compression.
For a lower crimp compression turn the screw counterclockwise.
Afterwards tighten the lock-nut again.
The adjustment of the stop, respectively the ejector is done according to the imprinted symbols.
The crimping of the the braid and the wire insulation is done in two steps:
1. Insulation device for wire section 0,5 – 6 mm²
2. Cutter for copper- or aluminium conductor.
To unlock the tool after the crimping procedure, pull the lever (Pos.2) inwards.
6 Maintenance, Inspection
6.1 Daily Maintenance
Following steps are recommended for daily maintenance of the hand tool:
1. Remove dust, moisture and any other contaminants from the tool with a clean, soft brush or a clean,
soft lint-free cloth. Do not use hard or abrasive objects that could damage the tool.
2. Make certain that the pivot pins are in place and secured with the retaining rings. The screwed stop
pin of the adjustment wheels must be tight.
3. When the tool is not in use, store it in a clean, dry area.
6.2 Periodic inspection
Inspections of the tool should be recorded frequently.
1. Remove any debris which could affect the function of the hand tool.
2. Make certain that all pivot pins are in place and secured with retaining plates.
3. Close tool handles completely and then allow them to open freely. If they do not open quickly and fully,
the spring is defective and must be replaced.
4. Protect the joints from soiling and apply light machine oil to them regulary.
