3.6 Replacing the SCSI backplane

Chapter 3: Replacing pre-installed components

4. Remove the screws that secure the USB board to the

LED control board bracket and remove it.

5. Position a replacement board on the LED control board

bracket and secure with screws.

6. Replace the USB board cable.

3.6

Replacing the SCSI backplane

This section describes how to replace the SCSI backplane on
your TA26.
Follow these instructions to replace the SCSI control board.

1. Remove the chassis cover. See

Removing the chassis

cover

on page 11.

2. Remove all the SCSI HDD trays from the Transport TA26
3. Remove all cables from the SCSI backplane.

Note:

If your system features optional IPMI

(intelligent platform management interface),
you will need to remove the SMDC (server
management daughter card) and bracket,
which is secured with two screws, before you
can continue to remove the SCSI backplane.
