(Wake-on LAN) is a feature which allows remote power up through a
LAN connection when used in conjunction with a WOL compliant network
adapter and appropriate software. The system listens to network activity
even when the computer is off. Special wake-up packets sent by another
computer causes the adapter to signal the computer to power up and run a
predefined program.

socket, and the metal lever pulled down. This shifts the processor over and
down, guiding it into place on the board.
