Q: My AGP Video has an Intel i740 chipset and gives me problems when I plug

it onto this motherboard, why?

A: There is a known incompatibility with the Intel i740 chipset and the VIA

Apollo chipset on the motherboard. In addition, Windows NT 4.0 does not
support Intel's i740 and older chipsets.  Nor does it support VIA apollo
chipset.  Such a combination will definitely cause a conflict.  One solution
to this problem is to download VIA´s AGP driver (AGP driver ver. 2.6 or
later).  Go to http://www.via.com.tw/drivers/index.htm to download file at
VIA´s website.

Q: What is "Memory Clock Speed" used for?
A:  The Memory Clock Speed deals with the clock speed relationship between

DIMM and CPU.   If you are using an AMD CPU that runs at 100MHz-bus
speed and are NOT using PC100 SDRAM, you should set the jumper to
AGP clock 2-3.   Otherwise, if you are using PC100 SDRAM, then you
should leave the jumper at CPU clock 1-2.  For all other CPU's, the jumper
should be set to CPUclock 1-2.

Q: What are the x1.5 and x2 multiplier jumper settings? They are not mentioned

in the manual

A:  For the 1.5x jumper setting - JP8 is OFF, JP9 is OFF, and JP10 is OFF

For the 2x jumper setting - JP8 is OFF, JP9 is ON, and JP10 is OFF.

Q: What is pin#1 for J3, J4, J5, and J6?
A:  Pin#1 for the all the jumpers above face towards the PCI slots.

Q: Where is pin#1 for JVBAT1?
A:  Pin#1 for JVBAT1 is the one closest to the VIA MVP3 chipset.

Q: Does the motherboard support x2 AGP?
A:  Yes, the S1590S Trinity 100AT supports x2 AGP.

Q: What drivers do I install from the CD-ROM provided with the Trinity S1590

Motherboard?

A: Inside the CD-ROM provided with the Trinity motherboard are Win95,

Win98, and WinNT 4.0 drivers for VIA MVP3 chipset and are located in the
VIA folder.

The "agpvxd" folder will install driver support for AGP video.  NOTE: this

driver is for Win95 users only, however, some Win98 users may need to
install this driver who are having conflicts in Device Manager.  There are no
