LCD Module
Now you will prepare the LCD module for connection to the
T-238 PCB. The LCD connects to the PCB via a flat
ribbon cable.
[ ] Carefully remove the LCD module from its protective
packaging.
You will be soldering a 1x16-pin male header to the LCD.
During this time you need to protect the LCD screen from
splatter while soldering.
[ ] Cover the LCD screen while soldering.
[ ] A 1x17-pin male header is supplied in the kit. Carefully
trim 1 pin off one end of the header to make a 1x16-pin
header.
[ ] Position the 1x16-pin male header to the rear of the
LCD in the holes on the top of the display. These are the
holes labeled with a 1 on one end and a 16 on the other.
[ ] Solder the 1x16-pin male header with pins facing to the
rear of the LCD module and in holes 1 through 16.
NOTE –
J8 on the PCB is an alternate connection for
powering the LED backlight on the LCD. There will be a
red and black wire, a polarized Molex plug housing, and
two pins remaining. These are for LCD displays that do
not have a 16-pin header but rather a 14-pin header. Pins
15 and 16 supply power to the LED backlight. The LCD
display supplied with your kit has a 16-pin header. You
may save these parts for any future modification on your T-
238.
That completes the assembly of the LCD module cables.
Set them aside for now. The LCD module will be
connected to the PCB after a few voltage checks are
completed in the next section.
Almost done
At this point, these should be the only items left

[ ] 2.1 mm Coaxial Plug
You are almost finished assembling the PCB. Next you will
do some final checks before applying power.
