b. For the 2
nd
format go to File -> Export -> Export Test Data… In the new window select the test
with the mouse and then select “Export”. In the new window go to the appropriate folder and
name the file based on the present day in the format MMDDYYYY
10. Once the file has been saved we then need to delete the file from the device. This is done through File ->
Receive selecting the test with the mouse and then clicking on “Delete”. Two confirmation windows will
appear, select “Yes” only if you have successfully downloaded the data in step 10. Once done, close the
window.
11. Now update the device clock. This can be done under Instrument Setup -> Parameters -> Clock…
a. First note the time (and date) if any difference exists between the PC and the DRX device and
mark it in the log.
b. If there is a difference update the clock by setting the “Instrument Time” to a time in the future
by 10-20 seconds (also be sure that the date is correct). And then 3 – 4 seconds ahead of
reaching that time press the “Send” button. This needs to be done as there is a delay in the
transmission. You will get a pop-up window confirming that the time has be changed and you
have to select “OK” and then select “Close” on the clock update window.
12. To restart the device we want to coordinate the time intervals from all instruments so the best way to do this
is through Instrument Setup -> Logging Setup…
a. In this new window choose the program of interest. The logging program it was last using will
automatically be selected.
b. Under Start Date and Start Time choose today’s date and a time on an even interval of the
recording interval with enough time allowed for putting the instrument back in place. For
example, for a 2 minute recording interval choose a Start Time of 14:10 or 14:12 or 14:14 or
14:16, etc.
c. Select “Send” on the right hand side once the options are correct.
13. To actually start the DRX device you still need to tell the instrument to start logging. This is done in the same
window as stopping it: Instrument Setup -> Logging Control
a. Select “Discover Instrument”
b. Once the DRX device info appears check that the right program logging program is selected and
then choose “Start Logging”. Then close the window.
14. At this point the USB cable can be disconnected and the TrakPro software closed and the instrument
returned to its proper measuring height.
2. Setup/First start:
Use this guide when you are setting up the device for the first time.
1. Make sure the DRX device is turned on and has loaded up to the home screen, the instrument is connected
via the USB Device port on the DRX device to one of the USB ports on the PC, and the TrakPro software has
been loaded.
2. At this point you will need to wait until the proper USB drivers are loaded (you may or may not see this
activity in the start bar near the PC clock).
3. Once they have loaded, you can initiate communications between the device and the PC by going to
Instrument Setup -> Communications…
4. A window will pop up labelled “NDIS Communications” and should give details of the Model, Serial Number,
Status, and IP address of the connected DRX device.
a. If the above happens go to the next step
b. If the above does not happen, wait a couple seconds and click the “Test” button.
c. If the option in b. is still not working the best option is to restart the DRX device using the ON/OFF
button and try again from the beginning.
5. Once you have an open line of communication we first need to set the date and time. This can be done
under Instrument Setup -> Parameters -> Clock…
a. First note the time (and date if any) difference between the PC and the DRX device and mark it in the
log
