Continue with Chapter 2.2 in order to install the ISDN adapter in
your computer.
2.2 Installation of the ISDN adapter
Note:
Make sure that the plug has been removed from the
outlet before you open the casing. Working on a
computer that is still connected to the electrical mains is
dangerous.
1. Close
Windows.
2.
Turn off your computer.
3.
Remove the plug of the computer from the outlet.
4.
Remove the casing from the computer. If necessary, consult your
computer’s user manual.

Remove the metal cover plate from an available PCI slot and
save the screw. A PCI slot can usually be identified by its white
colour.
6.
Insert the ISDN adapter into the PCI slot, pressing the card into
the slot firmly. Fasten the card with the screw.
7.
Close the PC and insert the plug into the outlet again.
8.
Connect the RJ45 cable to your ISDN adapter.
9.
Connect the other side of the RJ45 cable to the ISDN wall outlet.
2.3 Installation of the driver
2.3.1 Windows 95 and 98

Turn on the computer and get Windows started. The ISDN
adapter is automatically recognised in Windows as a ‘PCI
Network Controller’.

Insert the disk ‘Windows 95/98 Drivers’ into the ‘A’ drive.
3.
The location of the driver is ‘A:\WIN95’. Enter this location when
Windows asks for it, or choose ‘Install From Disk’.
4.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
5.
Select ‘DSS1: Euro-ISDN’ for use in Europe.
6.
Enter your telephone number. This is only necessary if you want
to use the ISDN adapter to process incoming calls.
