6 Installation
If you do not have the expertise to install the device correctly, please arrange
for the installation to be carried out by an expert or a specialist workshop!
If you have your own network or system administrator for your network (as will pro-
bably be the case in a larger company), please let this person assume the responsi
-
bility for connection and wiring. Do NOT connect the switch yourself!
Please note the following illustrations for
installing the device on a DIN rail:
1. Carefully suspend the switch (terminal
strip at the top) from above into the DIN
rail.
2. DIN rail
3. Move the switch downwards with a little
force and push it onto the DIN rail until
it clicks into place. Check that the switch
is firmly seated before you start wiring.

On the top of the switch there is an industrial
terminal with 6 connections for the redun-
dant power supply. The PGND terminals
have no function.
The terminals have the following mean-
ings:
P1 (Power supply 1)
P+1 = 12 - 52 V/DC
P-1 = GND
PGND
These PGND terminals have no function.
P2 (Power supply 2)
P+2 = 12 - 52 V/DC
P-2 = GND
Earthing contact
Two separate power supplies for redundant operation can be connected via terminals P1
and P2. The voltage range is between 12 - 52 V/DC. Ensure the correct polarity when
connecting!
If redundancy is not required, the supply can also be connected via only one of the
two power supply terminals P1 or P2.
The equipotential bonding between the switch cabinet and the switch is established via the
earthing screw. Attach the earthing cable to the earthing screw on the switch and ensure
that the earthing system is properly connected. The switch is equipped with a lightning
protection mechanism. You can also ground the switch with an earthing cable via the PE
(protective earth).
Always switch the power supply OFF before connecting the power cables.
Exceeding the input voltage may damage the device and cause it to malfunction.
