Continuous Status
Timeout 20
message
This indicates that there is no communication with the device flagged – in
this case the Node number of the device is 20 (= Master Profiler). Check
the power and communications links to the sonar head for continuity and
for correct polarity, voltage and ensure that the power supply can provide
sufficient current to power all devices.
If a cable flood is suspected, then the conductors will need to be insulation
tested; the sonar heads and Seanet SCU (or SeaHub) must be disconnected.
Status
Centre Err 21
message
In this case, the message indicates a fault with Node 21 (Slave Profiler).
The head has lost its bearing during the scan. This may be a result of a sudden
knock or collision that may have damaged the transducer and/or stepper
motor shaft. The transducer will correct its bearing at the end of the scan but if
the error message is repeated then there has been damage to the transducer
or stepper motor.
Profiler head rotates but no profile given or targets
observed
Check the gain control is responding and not set at a minimum. Check that
the Profiler head(s) mounting position is correct with the LED and filling screw
pointing down.
