3 – E2SLD Installation
The E2SLD leak detection sensor should be mounted on a raised floor near cooling units and other applications where water and other
electrically conductive fluid leakage detection can occur.
Approximately 1” (25 mm)
Approximately 0.38” (10 mm)
3-1 Mounting the Leak Detection Sensor
The E2SLD supports mounting by screws, double-sided tape, or adhesive.
1
Mark the intended location of the E2SLD with the probes facing
downward approximately 1/8” (3 mm) above the floor.
2
Mount the sensor to a wood, metal, or concrete* surface using the
provided #6 screws or double-sided tape.
*A user-supplied adhesive will be necessary for concrete surface mounting.
3-2 Wiring the Sensor
1
Before attaching the wire to the switch, use wire cutters to clip to
desired length (if necessary).
2
Use wire strippers to cut back the covering of the two wires and
remove a small amount of insulation from the end of each wire
(do not cut through the insulation into the wire itself).
3
Correct polarity is required.
Twist the tinned or bare ends of
each wire and place the red wire on the “+” positive marked
terminal and the black wire on the “-” negative marked terminal.
Wrap them clockwise under the head of each screw on the
sensor. Tighten the screw by turning it clockwise.
4
Use cable ties and adhesive cable tie holders (user-provided) to
secure the entire length of the wire.
5
Route the wire away from the sensor and attach the other ends
to one of the input connections on the compatible E2MTHDI
module, noting the polarity markings that were wired at the
sensor.*
*Each E2MTHDI input contacts will have “+” positive polarity markings to
ensure proper wiring connection.
