Gigabit Ethernet Switch User’s Guide

Using the Console Interface

The fields you can set are:

♦

Destination IP Address

The IP address to be Pinged.

♦

Repetition

Amount of times the Switch should send the Ping

(1-255). If zero is chosen, the Switch will continue Pinging

indefinitely.

In the lower part of the

Ping Test

screen, you can view the Ping

status, including Result, Reply, Time out, and Unreachable.

SNMP Configuration

The Switch sends out SNMP

traps

to network management

stations whenever certain exceptional events occur, such as when

the Switch is turned on or when a system reset occurs. The Switch

allows traps to be routed to up to four different network

management hosts.

Chapter 5,
