The Acoustic Master Custom
The Traynor Acoustic Master Custom is a 225-watt bi-amped amplifier designed specifically
to make an acoustic guitar sound as natural and realistic as possible when amplified. The
compact size and light weight of the Acoustic Master Custom makes it easy to take anywhere.
Active or passive pickups of your acoustic guitar, a microphone, and even line-level signals
can all be used. Other features include two separate digital effects processors with 16 custom
sounds, one shared on channels1 and 2 and the other on channel 3. Balanced line outputs
(pre and post effects), inserts, and a sweepable notch filter make this amp perfect for stage
use. The versatility and response of the Acoustic Master Custom will make it a pleasure to
play for years to come.
1. Power
The Blue LED, located next to the Master Volume, will illuminate when the unit is turned on.
The power switch is located at the back of the unit near the power receptacle.
2. Channel 1
Channel 1 has been voiced specifically for acoustic guitars. This input is unbalanced with an
input impedance of 1 Mega-ohm. It can accept either passive (piezo/coil) or active pick-ups. Tone
controls include Gain, Bass, Lo-Mid, Hi-Mid and Treble, as well as a sweepable notch filter which
eliminates most feedback generated by the guitar at high volumes.
Note: Channel 1 has a high input impedance and is designed to accept both active and
passive pickups, however Channel 2 and 3 only accept guitars that use active pickups.
Channel 1 is very high gain, the sensitivity is about 50mV and will accept the low output
of guitars that use passive pickups. If you wish to use an active or 'hot' guitar on channel
1 please follow the following procedure.
1. Turn the Gain Control on Channel 1 to '0' leaving the Master at (approx.) 11 o'clock;
strum your guitar and watch the Clip LED, if it illuminates with normal playing, reduce the
gain on the guitar until the LED does NOT illuminate when playing normally.
2. Increase the Gain on Channel 1 while strumming or plucking normally until the Clip
LED illuminates and then back-it-off a little. If more output is needed from the amp,
increase the Master Volume to the desired level.
3. If your guitar is active and does NOT have a volume control, use Channel 2 or 3 as your input.
