Useful Suggestions
Some problems may occur during the use of the shredder. Find some suggestions to solve them below:
Problem
Probable Cause
Solution
Shredder
jamming
Excessive intake/feeding. Organic
material accumulates inside the
machine.
Turn shredder off. Remove upper output device, open
cover, remove excess of material from inside the machine.
Close cover, replace output device, turn shredder on,
wait for motor to reach maximum revolution and get
back to work. Control machine intake/feeding.
Low production
1. Insufficient feeding.
2. Machine
revolution
below
specification
3. Humid product.
1. Maintain continuous feeding, yet not overfeeding
which may cause shredder to jam.
2. Check whether TDP rpm is below 540 rpm.
3. Shred dry material only; humid products may block
output device.
Irregular cut
1. Cutting blades need sharpening.
2. Worn counter cutting blade.
1. Sharpen cutting blades as indicated in “Sharpening
and substitution of the knives”.
2. Do as item “Counter cutting sharpening and
replacement”.
Uneven size
of shredded
material
1. Worn or damaged hammers.
2. Stuck hammers.
3. Worn or damaged blades.
4.
Blade and counter blade
distance not as recommended.
1. Change the hammers’ faces or replace them
with new ones, according to instructions in this
manual.
2. Clean the machine whenever you finish chopping
green products, especially before long periods
of interruption, to avoid material buildup in the
cutting disc.
3.
Sharpen or replace blades.
4. Adjust blade and counter blade distance as
instructed in this manual.
Trouble to start
the engine
1.
Product overloading inside the
machine.
2. Voltage drop in the power
grid.
3. Poor fuel quality or carburetor
issues.
1. Turn off the equipment and wait for the engine
to stop. Clean the excess of product inside
the machine, start the engine, and wait until it
reaches full speed and resume working.
2. Check the state of the power grid (electrician).
3. Replace fuel or contact an Authorized TRAPP
Technical Assistant.
Smoke in the
gas engine
exhaust system
1. Excessive oil in the air filter.
2. Oil in exhaust system.
1. Clean the air filter or replace it.
2. Leave the machine on in an open, ventilated
environment for about 5 minutes, then turn it
off and wait for the exhaust to cool down. When
you turn it on again, you should notice smoke
decrease as you use the machine. If the problem
persists, contact a TRAPP Assistant.
