5-18. Playing DVD video

CD/DVD player and DVD video disc information
If the following error messages appear on the screen, refer to the fol-
lowing table and take the appropriate measures. If the problem is not
rectified, take the vehicle to your Toyota dealer.
● This DVD player conforms to NTSC/PAL color TV formats. DVD
video discs conforming to another format such as SECAM cannot
be used.
●
Region code: Some DVD video discs have the following region
code indicating the region in which you can use the DVD video disc.
• “ALL”: for all countries
• “2”: for GCC countries

• “3”: for Southeast Asia
• “4”: for Latin America
• “5”: for Africa

: Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar
and Kuwait
If the DVD video disc is not labeled as “ALL”, “2”, “3”, “4” or “5”, you cannot
use it on this DVD player. If you attempt to play an inappropriate DVD
video disc on this player, “Region code error” appears on the screen. Even
if the DVD video disc does not have a region code, you may not be able to
use it.
Error messages
Message Cause/Correction procedures
“Please check disc.”
(“Check DISC”)
It indicates that the disc is dirty, damaged, or it
was inserted upside down. Clean the disc or
insert it correctly.
It indicates a disc which is not playable is
inserted.
“Region Code Error”
This indicates that the DVD region code is not set
properly.
“DISC error”
There is a trouble inside the system.
Eject the disc.
