Trouble Shooting
1. There are GREEN and/or RED light flashing/staying on. What does this mean?
Refer to the Status LED table on Page 6.
2. Why is the light not working when I press the switch?
The switch is a Capacitive Touch Switch and it requires two fingers to firmly press on the
unit (close to the light symbol ). Depending on the type of gloves, the Capacitive
Touch Switch might not be able to recognise when the switch is being pressed.
If light still cannot be switched on, try to connect a device in the socket and see if there is
power.
- If there is power through the socket but the light still does not operate, contact your
nearest Toyota Dealer for support.
- If there is no power through the socket, jump to Troubleshoot #5 and #6.
The details below will determine whether your system has a malfunction. If the system
fails to operate after you have completed any of the required actions, you will need to
consult the nearest Toyota dealer for support.
3. Why does the light shortly turn off automatically after turning it on?
The LED Lamp illuminates for 1 minute and then turns off. If the switch is pressed again
within 30 seconds of turning off, the LED lamp will stay on for 30 minutes and then turn
off. LED lamp will automatically de-activate when vehicle engine is started (except when
it is in the 30 minutes timer mode). It will also turn off when the vehicle battery reaches
the cut off threshold. (refer to page 5 for more information).
The unit has gone to Standby Mode and to restore operation, vehicle engine must be
started. Refer to Page 7 for more information.
4. I have not used my vehicle for 4 days or more. Why is the 12V Auxiliary Power
Socket no longer working?
The unit has an Over Current Protection and if the limit has been exceeded, it will
disconnect power to each socket as required. Refer to Page 6 for more information.
The unit has an Over Voltage Protection which disconnects power to both sockets to
protect the connected accessories. This is a problem that could arise from the vehicle
battery malfunction. Check the vehicle battery voltage.
The unit has a Smart Circuit that disconnects power in the event that the battery state of
charge reaches a low level. Starting the engine will cause the battery voltage to go
above the required voltage level 13.2V and power will be re-enabled to the sockets.
If the vehicle battery drops to a low level, then the Smart Circuit will enter ‘Sleep Mode’
and disable power to the sockets.
5. Why is the socket not working/not providing power to connected accessories?
Check and test the two fuses on the 12V Auxiliary Socket Harness connected to the
Positive Battery Terminal. If fuse is blown, replace the fuse with the appropriate rating.
6. I am within the current limit threshold and my vehicle battery voltage is adequate.
Why is the socket still not working?
