Hardware Connection Methods
Note: Several non-standard connections exist, depending on the manufacture of your
hardware. Before attempting to connect your system to the TouchTunes jukebox, please consult
the equipment manual(s) for your system to ensure correct connections.
Due to the numerous lighting systems and configurations available, TouchTunes does not
supply cables for connecting your DMX system. You can either purchase these cables from an
electronics store or wire them yourself using the pinout information provided in this section.
TouchTunes’ implementation of DMX512 interconnection is based on communication over UTP
Cat5e cable. DMX systems may use several physical interconnection methods. Most common
methods include:
1. RJ45 to RJ45 – UTP Cat5e patch-cord in straight-through configuration (TIA/EIA-568-B
standard).
