4.13 Power Supply Board and Sub Battery

WARNING: 

If you replace the sub battery, be sure to use only batteries recommended

by Toshiba. Installation of the wrong battery can cause the battery to explode or
otherwise cause damage.

Removing the Power Supply Board and Sub Battery

To remove the power supply board and sub battery, follow the steps below and refer to
Figures 4-28 and 4-29.

1.

Turn off the power to the computer, then disconnect the AC adapter and all
external cables connected to the computer.

2.

Remove the battery pack, optional memory module, optional PCMCIA card, FDD
or optional CD-ROM drive, HDD, upper cover and keyboard, speakers, keyboard
base and display assembly, infrared board, sound board and IPS board as described
in Sections 4.2 through 4.12.

3.

Disconnect the 

sub battery cable

 from 

PJ140,

 peel off the tape securing the sub

battery and cables and remove the sub battery.

4.

Peel off the 

insulator
