3.3 Mounting in the Base Unit
Mount your DN311 in the G3 I/O slot of the base unit for the S controller and lock it. For
details, see the description of module installation in the Sequence Controller S3 User's
Manual.
More than one DN311 can be mounted per S controller as explained in 1.5.2 Number of
mounting modules.
The DN311, a low-voltage I/O unit, must be installed in the left part of the base unit, and
high-voltage I/O units in the right part of it. Separate the cables for low-voltage units from
those for high-voltage units. (See 8.4 Network Installation for network cabling.)
The current consumption of the S controller power module for the DN311 (5 VDC) is 0.6
A. To determine the power capacity, refer to the description of how to determine power
capacity in the Sequence Controller S3 User's Manual.
Caution
• Since the DN311 is designed for the model 3000 of the Integrated Controller V Series, be
sure to mount your DN311 in the base unit, instead of using it alone. Don't use it for other
applications. Otherwise, a there is the danger of electric shock, bodily injuries, and/or
mechanical malfunction.
• Be sure to turn power off (switch off the S controller and the network) before mounting or
removing the DN311. Failing to do so will cause electric shock, malfunction, and/or failure.
• Keep the DN311 free of wire fragments and other foreign matter. Failing to do so can cause
fire, failure, and/or malfunction.
• Secure the joints of the connectors and cables and the N311 mounted in the base unit with
stoppers or screws to prevent them from slipping out of place or getting unsteady.
If they are not adequately secured, vibration, etc. can cause trouble or malfunction.
