1.18 Software Specification For System BIOS
1.18.1 Hot keys
Fn + F1 Instant password security.
When pressing this hot key, the screen will be blanked until the user enters the
password that is terminated by the Enter key. If no password is registered, pressing
Enter could return the control of the system.
Fn + F4 Alarm volume adjustment.
When pressing the hot key, the system will change the volume setting of the Lid
switch alarm. It will also beep for the new setting.
Fn + F5 Power on display
When pressing the hot key, the display device will switch between CRT, LCD, and
simultaneous display. It will not update the ‘Power on Display’ option setting in
system setup.
Fn + F10 Cursor keypad on/off.
Pressing this hot key enables/disables the embedded cursor keypad. Numeric lock
state is logically disabled.
Fn + F11 Numeric keypad on/off.
Pressing this hot key enables/disables the embedded numeric keypad. Numeric lock
state is logically enabled.
Fn + F12 Scroll Lock on/off

Decrease contrast
After rebooting, pad lock is set to off and Num lock is set to on. In this state, the
embedded cursor/number pad is not enabled on the notebook keyboard.
The function of the Fn key can be simulated by left-Ctrl +left-Alt of the external
keyboard.

Power Button
The activity of the power button is as follows:
(a) If power button is pressed for less than one second then nothing happens.
