Verify that the eccentric oil is level with the bolt hole. If
adding oil is required, refer to Changing the Eccentric
Oil (page 14).

Wipe up any spilled oil.
5.
Replace the oil plug screw.
Changing the Eccentric Oil
1.
Set the throttle to slow, stop the engine, and wait for
all moving parts to stop.
2.
Place an oil drain pan under the oil plug and remove
the fill plug and the oil plug screw (Figure 20). Place
an oil drain pan under the oil plug.
3.
Tip the plate compactor forward slightly and use a
suction gun to remove the oil through the filler hole
(Figure 20).
4.
Slowly pour oil into the filler hole until the oil comes
out the oil plug (Figure 20).
5.
Wipe up any spilled oil.
6.
Replace the fill plug and the oil plug screw.
Cleaning the Sediment Cup
DANGER
In certain conditions, gasoline is extremely
flammable and highly explosive. A fire or explosion
from gasoline can burn you and others and can
damage property.
•
Set the throttle to slow, stop the engine and keep
heat, sparks, and flame away.
•
Handle fuel only outdoors.
•
Wipe up spills immediately.
•
Do not smoke while handling fuel.
1.
Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop.
2.
Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.
3.
Move the fuel shut-off valve to the Off position.
4.
Remove the sediment cup and O-ring (Figure 6).
5.
Wash the sediment cup in a nonflammable solvent and
dry it thoroughly.
6.
Place the O-ring in the fuel valve and install the
sediment cup, tightening it securely.
7.
Move the fuel shut-off lever to the On position.
If any fuel leaks, repeat this procedure and replace the
O-ring.

1.
Remove the bolts holding the belt cover in place
(Figure 21 or Figure 22).
