Starting the Unit and
Operating Specifics
Raising the suction bar
Swivel the actuator lever (4) upwards. The suction bar locks into
position.
Note
: Suction turbine (34) runs on for a further 10 sec. in order that
any water left in the suction bar and/or suction channels is drawn back
into the unit. Upon completion, the turbine automatically switches off.
Adjusting the brush contact pressure
The contact pressure for the brush head (1) is adjusted by turning rotary
knob (33). The correct setting is established by observing the action of
the scrubbing brushes and the cleaning result they achieve. If the brush
motors are overloaded, they cease to turn, and control lamp (21) on the
operating console flashes. In this case, turn key switch (13) to the “0”
position, and reduce the brush contact pressure accordingly. When this
has been done, turn the key switch back to position “I”.
Important
: If the brush contact pressure is set to a level that is
greater than actually required for the current cleaning task:
– the drive motors consume more electricity
– the unit operating cycle is reduced unnecessarily as the battery
charge will be consumed prematurely
– the brushes will wear out prematurely.
Adjusting the suction bar (5)
Slanting the bar
The suction bar can be slanted by up to 5° for use on ceramic surfaces.
Unscrew the knobs (32) on the suction bar holder, and slant the suction
bar slightly. The suction bar is now no longer parallel to the ground as it
passes over the ceramic tiles. This results in a much improved vacuum
action when the unit is used on tiled floor surfaces.
Tilting the bar
The tilt angle of the suction bar has been set in the factory to match most
normal floor surfaces. If the suction results are not satisfactory, star
knob (42) can be turned to correct the tilt angle of the suction bar.
