Soldering gun 60W
PRESENTATION
This product is made for electronic soldering on components and plates. Any other use is considered as non-compliant and could
cause accidents. To melt the wire, the gun achieves temperatures above 400 degrees centigrade. It can be used to solder copper, tin,
brass, iron but not every metal type. It cannot solder aluminium , and a few other metals (stainless steel, cast iron ...).

THE PRODUCT
USE
1 Unpacking
Unpack carefully your product and inspect it. Get familiar with all the features.
If some parts are damaged or missing, get them repaired or replace them before any use.
2 Soldering area
A clean and protected table in a quiet and well lit area is needed. Put the soldering gun on a support when not in use. Have to hand
a wet sponge to clean the end of the gun if necessary. If possible, use a vice to hold the workpiece.
The area must be ventilated as fumes are toxic. Make sure that the power supply cable goes behind the table to avoid any contact
with the end of the gun.
3 Starting and turning off the product
The voltage must match the voltage showing on the product identification plate. The gun takes 6 to 8 seconds to reach its operating
temperature (around 230 degrees centigrade). Press the switch ON/OFF to turn on the product.
Note: the light comes on as soon as the product is ON.
4 Soldering skills
Wear suitable protective equipment according to the work you are doing (goggles, gloves …)
The workpieces must be clean, free of grease and oxidation (rust …).
• Check that the end of the gun is well-attached before turning on the product. The end must be fixed to the heating element and
secured with screws.
• Put the gun on a support. Do not leave the heating part or the end of the gun on a surface which can be damaged by the heat.
• To extend the lifetime of your soldering gun, it is advised to slightly lubricate the end of the gun.
• Plug the iron 5 minutes before using it. The iron starts heating as soon as it is plugged. Before using the iron, it has to reach the
working temperature.
The temperature to use depends on wire thickness where the weld will be realised. It also depends on the melting point.
Press the end of the gun on the wire or the work piece. When the work piece is hot, add the melted metal then remove the gun.
