• Keep children away from a switched-on gas heater.
• Close the pressure regulator after having switched off the gas heater.
• Should you smell gas, carefully respect following operation guidelines:
o
close the pressure regulator,
o
open all windows in the room,
o
do not switch on any electrical devices or operate electrical switches, and extinguish
any open flame,
o
consult a qualified technician.
• Never use the gas heater without its protective grid. Make sure the gas hose has not
expired the date marked on the hose itself.
• Do not move a switch-on gas heater as shocks may trigger the safety mechanism.
• When the appliance is not in use, it must be covered before being stored in a dust-free
environment. When the appliance will not be used for an extended time, it is recommended
to disconnect the gas canister.
• Prior to disconnecting or replacing the gas canister, check if the valve of the canister
and/or pressure regulator is shut tightly. Open the back panel of the appliance and remove
the gas canister from its holder, while avoiding stretching and twisting the gas hose.
Disconnect the pressure regulator from the gas canister. Install the new gas canister and
check the system for gas leaks.
4. Operation Guidelines
It is important to follow the guidelines and legal regulations in force concerning the installation
and use of this gas heater. We recommend consulting a qualified technician. However, if you
decide to ignore consulting a qualified technician, please consider the following important
guidelines:
About the Rooms
• The rooms where this gas heater will be used in must be equipped with a ventilation
opening of at least 50 cm². In addition, the rooms must be at least 8 m³ while the
furniture must not take more than 2 m³ of space.
• The rooms must have an opening window or door with a minimum width of 2 m.
• We recommend not using this gas heater in rooms where aerosols are frequently being
used.
Connecting the Gas Heater
• This gas heater may be connected to the gas cylinder by the user without intervention of a
qualified technician. It is therefore necessary to prepare following elements.
Necessary Elements
• To switch on the gas heater, you will need:
o
1 cylinder of commercial butane of 13 kg, bottled only by an official distributor, with
following maximum dimensions: a height of 55.5 cm and a base diameter of 30.5 cm.
o
1 certified pressure regulator.
o
1 standard gas hose with a length of 0.5 m.
o
2 screw-threaded hose clamp for flexible gas hoses.
• Please refer to the gas heater's specification tag and contact your gas distributor for more
info.
• The connection of this gas heater must be done with a flexible hose and a pressure
regulator. Contact your gas distributor.
5. General Guidelines
• Refer to the Velleman ® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
• All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user
modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
• Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an unauthorised way will
void the warranty.
