Replacing the inserts
To remove the inserts (4) and (5), simply pull them forward and out.
The two inserts (4) and (5) must be placed in the crimp tool so that the correct sides point at
one another.
For this purpose, the inserts are marked with “A” and “B”. Always pay attention that the same
marks are on one side (A-A or B+B) and that the arrows “
L” and “R
“ point at one
another.
If you do not pay attention to that, you won’t be able to perform the crimping correctly,
and you run the risk of damaging the crimp pliers or the inserts.
Crimping process
Depending on the available crimp-type connector, select the correct insert for the crimp pliers
and insert the crimp-type connector into the correct opening.
Press the handles (1) of the crimp pliers
fi
rmly together. The transmission mechanics in the
handle causes an increase of the torque.
If the torque selected via the toothed wheel (3) is attained, the forced lock and thus the handles
are automatically released and the crimp-type connector can be removed.
Adjusting the torque
First, unscrew the locking screw of the toothed wheel (3) com-
pletely. In this process, the crimp pliers must not be pressed to-
gether but the handles have to be fully open.
Move the toothed wheel in “-” direction to decrease the torque or
in “+” direction to increase the torque.
Secure the toothed wheel (3) again with the screw that you un-
screwed at the beginning (under the toothed wheel there are two
threads (see circle on the right image) which enable the adjust-
ment of the torque in a total of 12 stages).
Releasing the automatic lock via the release lever
In the event of a wrong crimping, the automatic lock of the crimp pliers can be released before
completing the process by moving the release lever (2) with e.g. a screw driver in direction of
the front side (crimp inserts).
Afterwards, the handles can be moved apart and you can remove the faulty crimp-type con-
nector.
