13. Cleaning, maintenance, and storage
Warning
• Always switch the product off and remove the battery before cleaning and maintenance. Accidentally start-
ing the product can cause serious injuries!
• Blade teeth are sharp, risk of injury! Use caution when handling. Wear protective gloves to avoid injuring
yourself on the sharp edges.
a) Cleaning
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause dam-
age to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Do not allow water or moisture to get inside the product. Never clean the product under running water!
• Always clean the product after each use to prevent any dirt from settling.
• Keep dust and dirt off the safety mechanism, and the housing.

Use a damp fiber free cloth to wipe off dirt, moisture, and residue (e.g. leaves and twigs) caught between the
blade teeth.
b) Maintenance, and storage
• To achieve good results, always keep blades sharp. It is recommended to level off any jags or ridges caused by
hard objects such as stones.
•
Apply anti-rust oil or spray to both sides of the blades and run the hedge trimmer briefly to distribute the oil along
moving surfaces. Never apply grease to the blades!
• Use a solvent especially designed for cleaning blades and removing resin.
• Make sure the blades are clean and oiled before storage. Store the product in a dry and frost proof location where
children are unable to enter.
