• Do not hold or carry the device by these safety devices.
• Do not cut any wet material with the hedge trimmer.
• Never operate the product in the vicinity of combustible or inflammable liquids or gases, air/gas mixtures
(gasoline vapours) or easily inflammable solids or powder. Sparks can be generated when the product
is operated, risk of explosion!
• Check the on/off switch before each use. Using the tool with a damaged on/off switch hinders control of
the tool and is therefore very dangerous.
• Never switch the device on, if there are foreign bodies in the blade.
• Do not overload electrical appliances. Only use electrical appliances for their intended purposes. A suit-
able tool does the job better and, more importantly, more safely.
• Before putting the hedge trimmer down or placing it on a surface, wait until the drive has come to a
complete standstill.
• Switch the device off immediately if the drive is blocked (e.g. if cut material is jammed in the blade).
• Always unplug the mains cable if you:
- are adjusting the trimmer
- storing the device
- removing a blockage
- feel unusual vibrations
- or after contact with a foreign body (in this case, check the device for damage and, if necessary, have
it repaired by a specialist)
• Before operation, make sure that all screw connections are tightened and that the hedge trimmer is in a
safe general condition.
• Remove any adjusting keys, e.g. spanners, before turning the device on. The tool could be thrown out
when the device is switched on and cause injuries.
• Keep the handles and surfaces of the tool dry, clean and free of oil or lubricants. Slipping during operation
leads to a loss of control and accidents.
• When working with the trimmer, remain attentive and do not get distracted.
• Keep children, people and animals away from the working area. Distractions during operation can result
in accidents.
• When working, stand on a firm base, particularly when using steps or ladders. This makes it much easier
to control the tool in unforeseen circumstances.
• Always hold the hedge trimmer firmly with both hands. This enables safe and controlled operation.
• Keep your working area clean. Make sure that the working area is well lit. Untidiness in the working area
or poor lighting could lead to accidents. Keep children and other people away from the working area!
Ensure that the working area is well ventilated.
• Thoroughly check the hedge to be cut before carrying out the work and remove any wires, cables or any
other foreign bodies.
• Do not insert any objects into the vents on the housing. In addition, make sure that no clippings, etc. fall
into the vents. This could cause a short circuit, and there is also the risk of fire and explosion.
