A .1 .5 IMA-S Brake Considerations
An unpowered IMA-S will require a brake to maintain its position if the force on the actuator exceeds
Back Drive Force listed in the table on page A_1.
A brake can be used with the actuator to keep it from back driving, typically in vertical applications.
A brake may be used for safety reasons or for energy savings allowing the actuator to hold position
when unpowered.
NOTE:
The optional Spring-Applied / Electronically-Released Brake requires 24V power. Input current
rating: IMA-S_22 - 0.35 Amps; IMA-S_33 - 0.43 Amps;
