Have your dealer check the engine
before the season starts, or if your
prefer, be sure to check the following
items yourself:
①
Check the electrolyte level, and
measure the voltage and specific
gravity of the battery.
②
Check that the battery is secure
and the battery cables are properly
installed.
③
Clean the engine oil filter.
④
Purge air in the vinyl pipe connecting
the oil tank to the oil pump.
⑤
Check that the shift and throttle
function properly.
(Be sure to turn the propeller shaft
when checking the shift function
or else the shift linkage may be
damaged.)
⑥
If the engine has been kept
without running for a long time,
the following operation is required
before starting it.

Air purging for oil line−Refer to
Item No.5 Fuel and Engine Oil, Oil
pump air vent.
◎
Forced fuel feeding−Refer to Item
No.6 Running, 2 Starting.
◎
Forced engine oil feeding−Refer to
the same as above.
