Installing the Filter
Install the Filter before filling the Kettle with water. NOTE: NEVER REMOVE
OR INSTALL THE FILTER WHEN THE KETTLE IS HOT.
The filter must be inserted in the Kettle so that the tab is at the top and the
bottom legs are pointed towards the middle of the Kettle. Fit the filter legs
between the side of the kettle and the ridge on the inside base. Gently push
down on the tab until it snaps in under the upper edge of the kettle in front
of the spout.
Descaling
Under normal use, a deposit of scale may form on the inside of the Kettle.
This scale build-up can be delayed by pouring out old water and refilling
before each use.
If descalling is required, follow the directions below:
1. Unplug Power Cord from wall outlet and allow Kettle to cool completely.
2. Open the Lid and remove the filter by gently pressing down on the filter
tab. Remove the filter and wash under running water.
3. Scale which has accumulated inside the Kettle can be removed by boiling
equal parts of white vinegar and water (2 cups of each is recommended).
Once the water has boiled, allow mixture to stand overnight. Empty out
mixture and fill Kettle to the MAX level with fresh water. Bring water to a
boil and discard. For heavy scale build-up, repeat this process.
