TROUBLE SHOOTING
Problem:The skimmer is not working properly
1.
Possible Cause:Water level inside main skimmer body (7) is too low.
Solution: Alter water level adjustment dial (3) accordingly.
2.
Possible Cause: Air intake (4) and/or air intake tube (11) is blocked.
Solution: Remove and check for blockage and clean as required.
3.
Possible Cause: Pump (8) is not plugged in or is not operating correctly.
Solution: See pump section below
4.
Possible Cause:The skimmer has been positioned too low in the aquarium and the air
intake (4) is below the water surface.
Solution: Re-position skimmer ensuring that the air intake (4) is above the surface of the
water in your aquarium (please see diagram 2).
5.
Possible Cause: Salinity level in the aquarium may not be correct.
Solution: Check salinity level and adjust accordingly.
Problem: Pump is not operating correctly
Caution:
Always isolate the pump from mains electricity before installing or carrying out
any maintenance to the pump.

Possible Cause: Pump (8) is not plugged in.
Solution: Ensure pump (8) is connected to power supply and switched on.
2.
Possible Cause: Pump (8) is blocked with dirt and debris.
Solution: Clean the pump (8) to remove dirt and debris (see “Maintenance” on p.5).
3.
Possible Cause: Pump impeller (9) is damaged.
Solution: Check for damage and replace if necessary.
Problem: No air bubbles (or very few) are being produced inside the skimmer

Possible Cause:The air intake tube (11) to the injection system is not attached.
Solution: Re-attach air intake tube (11).

Possible Cause:The air intake (4) and/or air intake tube (11) is clogged.
Solution: Check for blockage and clean as required.

Possible Cause: Pump (8) is not operating or performing correctly.
Solution: See pump section above.
4.
Possible Cause:The skimmer has been positioned too low in the aquarium and the air
intake (4) is below the water surface.
